The "Lincoln in Life" traveling exhibit is now available.
The “Lincoln in Life” traveling exhibit, created by the American Civil War Museum of Ohio, explores President Abraham Lincoln’s life from his early years in Kentucky until the transportation of his body by train from Washington to Springfield, Illinois after his assassination. The exhibit includes details on Lincoln’s early life, the accomplishments of his administration, life in the White House, Lincoln’s role as Commander in Chief, the Emancipation Proclamation, and finally Lincoln’s assassination.
Several original artifacts including a mourning ribbon, funeral shawl and small strips of black cloth from the drapery of the catafalque on which Lincoln’s coffin rested in City Hall, New York are included with the exhibit. Several original CDV’s (photos) of Lincoln, his family and members of his Cabinet are also available for viewing.
This exhibit is perfect for libraries, schools, and other educational facilities.
